It has taken some time for me to write this, one because I continue to struggle every day with the heartache and two because I don’t know how to put my gratitude into words! My beautiful six year old greyhound Lola broke her leg whilst enjoying a sunny walk out with my dad and after a trip to our local vets she was urgently referred to the orthopaedic vets in Ashbourne. Whilst I couldn’t be there with Lola, on arrival to the surgery the orthopaedic vet staff greeted my mum, dad and Lola promptly and worked fast to ensure Lola was assessed and given analgesia to ensure she was made as comfortable as possible. Given the upset of my family, the vets provided support, comfort and reassurance.. showing an immense amount of compassion and professionalism. My family were fully informed of the plan and were given time to discuss the surgery Lola was going to be provided. Whilst in surgery unfortunately Lola had an unexpected and rare cardiac event which the team tried their best to save her. We were informed of the loss of Lola via telephone, again with care, compassion and professionalism at the heart of the call. Communication continued and the next day my family drove to collect Lola, understandably very upset, the staff within the practice again supported my family and reflected their genuine love and care for animals and customers pets. We were informed that the event had upset and impacted everyone at the surgery, and although upset for the staff wasn’t what I would ever wish for, it brought me some comfort knowing just how much they cared! The vets went above and beyond, providing our family with a lock of Lola’s hair, paw print, nose print and condolences card. Something we can treasure forever to remember our little girl. Although non of us got the outcome we wanted, thankyou, immensely, to the orthopaedic vets, for ensuring Lola was comfortable, reassuring our family and trying your upmost to save her. Thankyou for your great communication, professionalism and commitment and thankyou for being genuine pet lovers who work hard to make a difference to animals lives every day! My cat had been run over but the amazing people at Ashbourne Orthopaedic Vet helped her recover from her broken bone. They have given us a small gift basket with things to help her recover. They are an amazing organisation and I fully trust them with my cat.

Cannot speak highly enough of Bart and the team.  They have operated on our Rescue Alaskan Malamute for his cruciate ligament.  Bear was given 5* treatment and aftercare and our dog was happy to see Bart on his follow up appointment too. Everything is brilliant about our experience with Ashbourne Orthopaedic Vet!  Once the referral went in from our vet, I received a call the next day and was given a date. I agreed for their receptionist to pre-authorise our pet insurance. Within fifteen minutes PetPlan notified me they were investigating the pre-authorisation which they did the same day, within two hours! We knew up front that all we would only pay our co-pay on the day.  Olly’s surgeon, Karl is brilliantly talented, friendly, professional, and compassionate. Olly recovered amazingly well.  As we live an hour away we were able to send videos of Olly’s recovery for Karl to monitor. He would get back to us very quickly (same day) and advise us. Olly was so happy to see Karl at our last visit for his x-ray to ensure his bone had healed.  Karl was happy to see him too! Olly has recovered completely. He’s back to enjoying life. I cannot recommend highly enough. My dog Pablo had to have a surgery we were very worried and stressed about. Karl and the team were amazing amd looked after Pablo so well. The aftercare was brilliant as well. Pablo even ran to Karl.at our follow up appointment as he was excited to see him! Thanks so much
